Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered

Zoocade is Austin's immersive entertainment center featuring four attractions: the Hologram Zoo, interactive Hologram Rooms, Verse Immersive AR Theater, and VR Arenas. We also have a full arcade and host birthday parties, school field trips, and group events. Located at 11000 Middle Fiskville Rd Ste A1, we're open six days a week (closed Tuesdays). Tickets start at $19.95.

Zoocade has something for every age, though some experiences are better suited for older guests. The Hologram Zoo and Hologram Rooms are great for all ages — no headsets, just 3D glasses, and the whole family can enjoy them together. Verse Immersive, the VR Arenas, and our sister attraction VieVR are best for guests ages 7 and up. These experiences use professional-grade headsets, so we ask that parents consider their child's maturity and comfort level before booking — the equipment is delicate and the experiences are designed for guests who can follow instructions and handle the gear responsibly.

Hologram Zoo tickets start at $19.95. The Zoo + Hologram Room bundle for 4 guests is $85–99. Verse Immersive single passes start at $29.99, with double passes, multi-show passes, and annual passes also available. Children under 3 are free for the Hologram Zoo. Check our booking page for current pricing, group rates, and package deals.

All of our experiences are timed and run on a set schedule — and because our headsets and equipment are shared across sessions, being on time is important for everyone. If your group arrives late, we may need to switch you to a different available experience or reschedule your session for another time depending on availability. We always do our best to accommodate, but we can't guarantee your original experience if the time slot has passed.

Our best advice: arrive a few minutes early. We have a photobooth in the lobby to keep you entertained while you wait for your session to begin — it's a great way to kick off the visit before you head in.

Zoocade has multiple attractions to choose from, with individual experiences running 30 minutes to an hour. Most guests find themselves staying longer than they planned — between the Hologram Zoo, Hologram Rooms, Verse Immersive, VR Arenas, and the arcade, it's easy to turn a single stop into a full afternoon or evening out. Plan for at least 90 minutes, and don't be surprised if you stay for two or more.

Both are welcome at Zoocade — no reservation required. That said, we do recommend booking in advance, especially on weekends and during summer, as popular time slots can fill up. Walk-ins are always welcome on a space-available basis, and for many of our attractions you can get started right away. For the Hologram Zoo and VR Arenas in particular, reserving ahead guarantees your preferred time and avoids a wait. If you're planning a birthday party, group event, or field trip, advance booking is strongly recommended. Reserve online or call us at 512-351-7312 and we'll get you set up.

Absolutely — Zoocade is one of Austin's most unique birthday party venues. We offer immersive experiences across multiple attractions, private table options, and stress-free planning packages. Birthday parties can include the Hologram Zoo, Hologram Rooms, Verse Immersive, VR Arenas, and arcade time. Contact us at 512-351-7312 or info@zoocade.com to discuss availability and packages.

Yes — Zoocade makes for a memorable and genuinely different date night. Walking through holographic worlds together, competing in Hologram Rooms, or exploring Verse Immersive AR shows gives you something to talk about that goes well beyond dinner and a movie. Our sister attraction VieVR, located in the same complex, offers 40+ minute guided VR expeditions to ancient Egypt and prehistoric Earth — also a great date night add-on. Tickets range between $10 and $20

VieVR is Zoocade's sister attraction, located in the same complex at 11000 Middle Fiskville Rd. The two venues share a building but are separate experiences with separate tickets. VieVR is an immersive VR expedition theater offering guided 42–43 minute experiences inside ancient Egypt (Horizon of Khufu) and through 3.5 billion years of Earth's evolution (Life Chronicles). Many guests visit both Zoocade and VieVR in the same trip. VieVR tickets start at $23.

Zoocade is located at 11000 Middle Fiskville Rd Ste A1, Austin, TX 78753 — off I-35 between Braker Lane and Research Blvd in North Austin. Free surface parking is available on-site.

Yes — most Zoocade attractions are fully wheelchair accessible. We're located in a shopping center complex with ample accessible parking and accessible restrooms. If you have specific accessibility questions, call us at 512-351-7312 before your visit.

We welcome guests of all abilities and have hosted many special needs groups with great success. That said, Zoocade is a highly sensory environment — our attractions feature dynamic lighting, flashing effects, and immersive sound throughout, which is worth considering for guests with sensory sensitivities, autism, or other conditions that may be affected by stimulating environments. We do not recommend our experiences for guests with epilepsy or seizure disorders due to the light effects involved. Every guest is different, so we encourage you to give us a call at 512-351-7312 before your visit — we're happy to talk through the specific experiences and help you decide what's the right fit for your group.

It depends on the attraction — and the answer might surprise you. The Hologram Zoo and Hologram Rooms are not VR at all. They use laser-powered hologram technology and 3D glasses, similar to what you'd wear at a movie theater. No headsets, no screens over your eyes, and no motion sickness. Holographic animals and creatures appear to float in the real world around you while you can still see everything and everyone in the room.

Verse Immersive uses augmented reality (AR) — lightweight headsets that project 3D characters into the real space around you, rather than replacing your view entirely. It's a completely different feeling from VR, and motion sickness is not an issue.

Our VR Arenas are true virtual reality — full headsets, immersive gaming, and escape room experiences for guests who want that classic VR adventure.

So whether you're looking for something with no headset at all, a gentle AR experience, or a full VR game — we've got all three under one roof.

At a traditional zoo, animals are often far away, resting, or out of sight. At Zoocade, the holographic animals appear up close and in motion, moving through the space directly around you. You’ll see a life-size elephant or lion closer than you ever could at a real zoo — available rain or shine, any time of year.

You wear lightweight AR headsets that project lifelike 3D characters and environments into the real space around you — so you can still see the room, your friends, and your surroundings, but the world around you comes alive with characters and stories you can explore and interact with.

Verse currently offers three shows: Everworld (an enchanting exploration of a living, breathing fantasy realm), Star Walk (a peaceful journey through the cosmos), and Trick or Treat (a seasonal Halloween adventure). Check our booking page for current showtimes and availability.

Verse uses augmented reality, not virtual reality — which means you can see the real room around you at all times. Because your brain can still perceive your actual physical surroundings, the motion sickness that affects many VR users does not occur with Verse. The vast majority of guests have no discomfort at all.

We do our best to accommodate guests with mobility needs in our VR experiences. Call us at 512-351-7312 before your visit to discuss which experiences work best for your group’s needs.

There is no strict height requirement for most experiences, but guests must be able to comfortably wear a VR headset and follow instructions. We recommend ages 7+ for family VR games and ages 10+ for VR escape rooms.

Family-friendly VR games like Party Playland and Kitchen Panic are great for kids ages 7 and up. VR escape rooms are best suited for ages 10 and up. Some experiences — like Alien Infection (our Nightmare-level escape room) — contain horror elements and are intended for teens and adults.

The VR Arenas are open Monday and Wednesday through Sunday. Tuesday is our only fully closed day. Check our current hours and availability on the booking page.

VR Games are action-focused free-roam experiences — you and your group move around a physical space while playing cooperative games like zombie shooters, archery battles, and cooking competitions. VR Escape Rooms are structured 60-minute puzzle experiences where your group works together to solve challenges and escape a themed virtual environment. Both use full VR headsets.

Medium: Dragon Tower, B-Block Breakout, Greenium, School of Magic, SuperHero, Runaway Train, Pirates Plague, Time Travel Paradox, Manor of Escape, Alien Infection. Virtual reality (VR) puts screens directly over your eyes and replaces your entire view with a digital world, which can cause motion sickness. Verse uses augmented reality (AR), meaning the headset projects 3D content into the real room around you while you can still see your actual surroundings and the people with you. No motion sickness, no disorientation, and you experience it together.
