Seeing a couple of elephants out at the zoo can be pretty exciting, but what about seeing a whole herd running towards you?
That’s the idea behind Zoocade, a zoo featuring holographic animals that used to be only available to visit in Australia, China, and Canada.
Now, one has opened in the U.S., and it’s just a short drive away from North Texas.
Zoocade, which was named in Time Magazine’s “Best Inventions of 2023,” has opened its first location in the nation in Austin!
According to the magazine, at Zoocade “you don’t just see an elephant – you see a herd of elephants that stampedes toward you and then runs through you. What’s more, it’s a way for the public to see and learn about wildlife that doesn’t involve keeping animals captive.”
Entrepreneur Reva Enzminger helped bring Zoocade to Texas, after witnessing the holographic zoo for herself in Australia.
She told CultureMap Austin, “From the minute I stepped inside the holographic tunnel in Australia and heard the shrieks of joy, I knew Zoocade would be a hit in Austin.
“Holographic technology and Zoocade is the future of family-friendly entertainment, and I’m thrilled to be the first to offer this in the United States.”
Zoocade is located at 11000 Middle Fiskville Road, Suite A1, and normal hours are Thursdays from 5-8 pm, Fridays 10am to 9pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 9pm.
